The Academy: Academic & Enrichment Blend 2nd-11th

In addition to our Enrichment+ program, we offer a blend of Academic and Enrichment classes for our 2nd-11th graders. These unique, Christ-centered courses are designed to help students discover their gifts, develop a vision for their life and train them how to defend their faith. Our project-based, cross-curricular, multi-genre approach helps students to gain a well-rounded education that not only prepares them for college but for life. These interesting and fun-packed classes offer students the opportunity for hands-on learning and real-world application. Here at The Well, we don't just teach classes, we Engage, Equip & Inspire the leaders of tomorrow!

 Wednesday Academic & Enrichment Blend classes are as follows:

Lead Like Jesus & Assembly Team*: Students will learn dance, drama, and music while preparing short skits and musical selections for their peers during our morning assembly. Students have the opportunity to refine their skills as they focus on what it means to worship and how to use their gifts as tools to share the gospel. Students also develop important Leadership Skills through our Lead Like Jesus Curriculum. Students will be involved in a group bible study with peers. (*2nd-7th are part of Enrichment Assembly see Enrichment+)

Creative Arts- Students learn how to worship God through the Arts. Class includes Music, Dance, Art, and Drama. With guest visitors and a plethora of new learning opportunities, students will learn and be inspired by the best!

Writing & Leadership Gavel*- In this writing & speech duo, students will learn to overcome nervousness when speaking before an audience, organize and present ideas logically and convincingly, build character and manners by being respectful, listen carefully to others’ ideas, participate in and lead group discussions or meetings, and offer advice to help others improve. Additionally, Students will learn grammar through games and activities and learn valuable writing skills. They will increase their self-confidence as they become better speakers and writers. 

*2nd-4th graders will have LA in place of this class. LA includes writing and grammar.

Apologia Science & Engineering (STEM)*- Using a combination of Master's Books and Apologia Science, students will learn how to defend their faith while learning Science and Engineering. (Topics covered: Applied Science, Physics, Physical Science and Chemistry)

*2nd-4th graders will have Enrichment+ STEM in place of this class.

Physical Education & Health- Students will exercise while learning how to be good shepherds of their bodies. Students will learn new skills through team cooperation and group sports

*2nd- 4th grade have PE only, not health

Missions & Cultural Geography- This course will highlight true stories from Christian history, exemplifying courage and a life dedicated to Christ (Richard Wurmbrand(Romania), Corrie ten Boom (WWII), Jim Elliot (Ecuador), etc. Students will see what God can do through a “Torchlighter” and will be challenged to carry their own torch while learning about the history of the Christian faith. Students will learn about countries and cultures across the globe through a Biblical Worldview and pray for the gospel to be spread through torch lighters/missions around the world.

*Please note that for successful completion of the course, weekly assignments may be required. Parents are fully responsible for their student's education as well as for creating and keeping their student's transcripts. Our academy classes are a powerful assisting tool for the primary educator but are not without parent involvement. Approximately 1-3 hours of homework may be required for Academy courses.
